Fungal colonization refers to the presence and growth of fungi without causing infection. This gel helps in clearing such colonization, and preventing potential infections.
- Treatment of Superinfections due to Gram-positive Bacteria: Superinfections occur when a new infection develops on top of an existing one. A-Migel oral gel is effective in treating superinfections caused by gram-positive bacteria. Gram-positive bacteria include species like Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes, which can cause various infections, including those of the mouth and gastrointestinal tract.

✔️ How does A Migel 2% Oral Gel work?
A Migel works by killing the fungus responsible for the infection, thereby reducing symptoms of inflammation like redness, swelling, and itching.
✔️ Side Effects of A Migel 2% Oral Gel
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (with long-term use), and rarely, allergic reactions.

✔️ Pharmacology
Miconazole, the active ingredient, has antifungal and antibacterial properties. It inhibits ergosterol synthesis, disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity and leading to fungal cell death.
✔️ Dosage & Administration of A Migel 2% Oral Gel
- The dosage varies depending on the age and condition being treated. For oral candidiasis, infants aged 4-24 months may take 1.25 ml (1⁄4 measuring spoon) of gel four times a day after meals, while adults and children aged 2 years and older may take 2.5 ml (1⁄2 measuring spoon) of gel four times a day after meals.
- Wash your hands before and after treating the infection.
- Apply the gel directly to the affected area of the mouth using a clean finger. For oral candidiasis, dental prostheses should be removed at night and brushed with the gel.

Avoid concomitant use with Terfenadine, Astemizole, and Cisapride due to potential inhibition of their metabolism by A-Migel. Monitor phenytoin and cyclosporine plasma levels when used concomitantly.
